Dazed & Confused Dec 08

Dazed & Confused December 08, I have never looked forward to an issue of Dazed with such high fevered anticipation, seriously. I heard about this issue a while back and it was as exciting then as it is now. Platforms are extremely hard to find to stand on in order to make your mark in fashion, music, art etc and Dazed seem to have delivered one to many creatives in just one issue. I do think that many of the street style bibles have long lost their edge in order to become more commercial and in order to obtain Ad's from the high end Luxury brands. Although Dazed always does give a shout out to the next genaration in their rise section online and in their pages each month. The covers headline is 'What Crisis' 'Fashion's new optimism' clearly shurugging off the increasingly annoying credit crisis that we have all been bored to death with hearing about. It is those new creatives shown in these pages that hold the future of creativety in their hands the ones that's work will have to shine through and endure these difficult fianancial times.

Jeremy Scott for Adidas

A collab i am actually kind of looking forward to, I loved his work with Adidas before with the Keith Haring tracksuits and i like the look of what i have seen so far. Scott's tongue in cheek designs have always made me think of the one time shocking pink Visonaire Schiaparelli.

Loewe Homme

Another House owned by LVMH one that i have always kind of loved their cute bags but another house much like Celine with no personal siganature of its own but now with LVMH wanting to actually make money from its stagnant stale houses hiring Pheobe Philo for Celine and the previous man who turned Mulberry into the respected British luxury label it is today now at Loewe, Loewe has been around since 1846 so its a shame its been neglected for so long but lets hope vevers actually does do something for both womenswear and menswear

Electronic Youth

Another Magazine to love, the turn of each page just simply evokes the beautiful teen spirit and with my fave model of the momment Ash on the cover and interviews with one of my favourite designers Kimmy Jones, each page is just even more pleasing then the last. What makes it even more of a treat is that its soooo hard to find it in London o and thats another thing the latest issue is dedicated to LONDON and shot by I-D Fave Alasdair Mclellan xox

Fashion Vs Sport Puma and Sergio Rossi, Lacroix & Gola, Junn J & Reebok Love the Sergio Rossi take on the classic Puma Clyde by adding a heel and cutting most of the trainer away, love Junn J's reeboks in patent and with the strap but dont really think much of the Gola's and Lacroix's

Jourdan Dun Finally gets a British Vogue cover despite having to share her glory with the face of Burberry Rosie and Eden its a start and quite refreshing that Vogue noticed that Kate Moss is not the only model in the world, have'nt read it yet but on a flick through it looks quite good although maybe Vogue could have decided to dig a little deeper then to proclaim that the children of ritch, famous the most stylish kids in London.

Comme des Garcon for H&M

Now that its drawing closer to the date more images are arising that show the collection in more detail, i personally don't know what to think but as i have seen with previous H&M 'designer' collections it will sell out regardless if the wider public don't know anything about the brand they are buying into. CDG is a brand i don't own much pieces of but respect the vision they bring to fashion table, its a brand which uses amazing fabrics, craftsmanship, skill, cuts etc all which have been taken out of this collection so it leaves me wondering whats in it but just the name.
