saatchi

Charles Saatchi's has a new book, a new tv show and well it seem's he is becoming a household name to rival his wife, I don't really understand the current obsession with him all of a sudden but either way rather him then some other air headed big breasted Z list. His TV show is funny and his book is frank. The show was for me an eye opener to how really many few great idea's there is in art and really how art has become accessible to all with the BBC dumbing it down for the audience and explaining why a whistle hanging from a rail is art even though the artist who created it can fail to do so. The BBC also emphasises on more then one occasion that the YBA's achieved rock star status maybe implying that this show aims to create a 'rock star' artist. It's all a bit silly and even more so that Saatchi decides to have a show that bears his name but not appear or air his opinions on art his thoughts are channelled by a young woman. I guess that's where you refer to his book if you wish to learn a bit more about his trendsetting taste, but don't expect too much as the book is insightful but just not overwhelming so.

Leica

I've always wanted a Leica Camera but the hefty price tags have always deterred me, I've fallen deeply by it's ease of use and timeless beauty. The Leica's classic square two tone design has always evoked the simplicity of 70's camera design when camera's looked liked camera's not plastic toys. The Hermes edition is limited in quantity and comes in classic leather that reminds you of Hermes classics (Kelly & Birkin)

Vogue

I-D

The Gap tooth sultry blonde seems to be the ideal of beauty at both ends of fashion's spectrum'swith Vogue championing it with Georgia Jagger and Lara Stone and I-D doing the same with the same two girls each gracing a cover of it's latest issue it even features Jamie Dornan also shot by Alasdair McLellan for British Vogue. Who could imagine that I-D and Vogue could be so in sync.

Tyrone Lebon

Nice Video by Tyrone Lebon work assuming these will be uploaded to I-D's new website.

Candy

CANDY 1 from Luis Venegas on Vimeo.

CANDY is the first fashion magazine ever completely dedicated to celebrating transvestism, transexuality, cross dressing and androgyny, in all its manifestations. Never before in history, have men and women had so many opportunities for body modification, or so many ways to change their appearance from head to toe: from the softest options like make up, to permanent transformations courtesy of the surgeons' knife.
Now the 21st Century is truly underway, there's no need to justify ourselves, only the ability and need to celebrate the diversity of lifestyles and options, the freedom to choose on every level. The possibilities are as infinite as the amount of people there are in this world. CANDY is a magazine for everybody. A space for individual freedom, and a publication that pushes people to take on the persona of what they always wanted to be.

What he is doing is definitely different and definitely unique, Candy captures my interest for several reasons from the amazing and diverse wealth of contributors, to convincing models to get into that size 8 sample size dress.

Marc Jacobs

Your shows certainly haven’t become any less flamboyant. The most recent one for Louis Vuitton, based on Seventies black street glamour, was a completely tongue-in-cheek fantasy.

And there are lots of really wearable pieces back in the showroom, let me tell you. I don’t have any problem with the disconnect between what’s on the runway and what ends up in store. If we only did wearable, easy pieces for the show, everyone would fall asleep. The function of a modern runway show is to entertain

Love You More By Sam Taylor Wood

A trailer for a non existent film, I love Harry Treadway, its a shame as the film looks like it would have been so good so I guess it does its trick and exploits the mind allowing the viewer to want knowing that it's impossible to get more, Taylor Wood seems to be commenting on mass consumption and the power of advertising in a society that is always ready to consume.
