Vogue Italia Rihanna

Nice Timeless cover

J'adore Robbie's Caravaggio shoot, the juxtaposition of angelic beauty with Gothic darkness much like all of Caravaggio's paintings which the shoot was inspired by. The D&G Jacket is also very Baroque fitting in perfectly

I like this- Nicola's shoot for this months Dazed

That Face

As i avidly read magazines and devour books its usually hard for me to be gripped by one book all day but that's how i consumed That Face, Sadly i didn't go see it when it was st the Royal Court it was written when the writer was 19 and at only 22 Polly Stenham has won several awards, had her play transferred to the west end & several countries and is already at play number 2, Tusk Tusk which debuted at the Royal Court this year. Quite an achievement for one so young but as i say age is just a number. The book mainly focuses on a mother who has lost control and slowly spirals into madness, her son becomes her parent and takes on the role of carer with dire consequences.

The Last of England

A film that you watch to watch but embeds itself deeper in your mind than many others, somehow jarman manages to find beauty within the destruction of beauty. It has a lasting impression on me and i think always will.

Derek Jarman

Vogue Homme Japan 3

The 3rd issue is always the charm, this is clearly a MJ hommage x

Another Magazine

I am not one to buy Bi-Annuals solely focused on womenswear, but those who say that they cater to both never really do and again menswear is looked upon as an after thought, but after the release of the Another Book which showcased how amazing & artistic some of the photographs that have been created for Another are then it renewed my interest in the magazine and Tilda Swinton on the cover championing Britain's young last season intrigued me as Tilda captivated me always in Derek Jarman's films. I like the Kate Moss cover most.

On my cultural day trip i managed to go Whitechapel & see Elizabeth Peyton, which was impressive, i like her work alot as when you look at her pictures there is no pretence that they are paintings just paintings, each brush stroke is seen and evident, she has an amazing use of colours in some pictures. Then it was off to the White Cube to see Gilbert & George which was interesting, I always have liked their work and the way they explore certain areas of the human being and protest against the unjust. Then i ended up at southbank the mediatheque to finish watching Derek Jarman's Caravaggio, i like both the latter and formers work intensely. The former is another indie film maker i admire & the latter is an artist who's poetically dark vision captivates me and toys with my soul. Then it was off to the ICA to watch Beautiful Loser's which was soooo inspiring.

so Jealous of Andrew Davis right now, not only is he always surrounded by cute cute cute people yes they are that hot, not only is he a barrel of laughs or an amazing stylist but he has the current edition of Love not one but two.

Pop Magazine

Maybe just maybe Pop Will surprise me, if this is the cover it is interesting the butterfly's which represent the human soul, the fragility of life and the shortness of youth butterfly's unlike humans turn from something less than cute to something more than beautiful unlike humans who are the opposite way round, Tavi represents youth but her mind which is clearly well developed in many sense seems she posses an older soul.

topman

For the upcoming season seems topman was inspired predominately by Loewe, from the ankle biting checked trousers to the shawl collared, wrap cardigan.

WHY- Key example of a image that causes desire,want,hunger,greed...... well for me anyway i love donuts and there is short supply of good bakeries to my knowledge in London.

Stark

The current issue of the achingly cool Rodeo magazine was shot by Lope Navo it depicts an extremely dashing Seijo James Imazaki, fixing his bow tie, nonchalantly gazing at the camera inviting us, beckoning us into a vision, a vision created by Lope Navo. His work centralises on the male body, conjuring sexual desire with his sexually charged homo erotic imagery. He knows how to shoot flesh and knows when flesh is too much flesh leaving you excited yearning to see more and not verging into the murky waters of pornography. His men are men not boys, rippling bodies, Raised arm pits flashing hair, nothing pubescent here and that is refreshing to see someone not subcumb to the prebuscent trend that has marred male imagery for so long. I am excited for this book(not in that way although.....).

Ceramics

WHY- RVA maybe u can do some cool shit like this

WHY-Its interesting to think how many times this specific wall amongst all the others in the undercroft have changed faces, that some of the 'street art' created here takes more time than a 'fine artists' work in their studio. Each time a new artist approaches it the old artists work is erased, its like a battle of skill, much like what goes on in the day. I love how it is an exhibition exhibiting voices of the unheard.

WHY- Because this heat is pissing me hot, warm in the day time but super hot at night

Brian Kenny

Why- I like how he has found images/ taken and adapted it to a found story by erasing and editing.

David Benjamin Sherry

WHY- I really seem to be drawn to art photographers of late, I've fallen deeply in love with Ryan Mcginleys work & can't wait for his solo show, but i also really like David Sherry's work which i first came across in GQ Style, his work focuses on mystics, nature and observation. His photos also seem to range from distorted, saturated and monotoned in his own art work. He has also shot for various high end & respected fash magz bringing a fresh approach to fashion photography employing his skills and techniques from that of his own work whilst respecting those of fashion & commercial photography.
